Ensure our Participants can Work more independently and Optimize their time to the full

There is also an innovative approach to the learning of languages in Austria: “Our programmers now include multimedia sections which can be used over the internet, to ensure our participants can work more independently and optimize their time to the full,“ says Klaus Kamutsch from the Cambridge Institute in Vienna.

Sessions with the teacher still make up around one-third of the courses, however: “This is very important, since only the teacher, through his or her personal contact with the participant, can recognize where there are gaps that need to be filled and more work needs to be done in a specific area,“ Kamutsch explains. In addition to the basic course, the Cambridge Institute offers a range of different diploma courses. The examinations are set by Cambridge University, and internationally recognized.

    Useful for Participants

This is useful for participants` careers, of course, like all other forms of part-time learning, while the contacts made on the courses can also be an important building block when planning for the future – over and above the acquisition of cambial new knowledge. The postgraduate courses run by the universities and business schools described here are attended by the managers of today and tomorrow. Exchange of experiences and networking between the participants is intensively promoted by the course designers.

The desire for further training should not fail due to the products available. All universities and business schools in Austria, as well as a wide range of private institutions, offer programmers nowadays. And management students looking for a qualify cation with the “Made in Austria” seal of quality need not even study in the country itself.

Since the opening to the East at the beginning of the 1990s, the Business Development Institute or WIFI has also been offering supported management courses and various EU projects in Central and South-Eastern Europe. “We want to be active where Austrian companies are investing the most,” says Anton Aufner, Managing Director of WIFI International GmbH.

    In-house corporate training

In-house corporate training courses are offered, as well as courses for the open market. The programmers focus on management themes and operational issues, as well as personality and soft skills training, and of course languages. “In addition to this, we are widening our product portfolio to include industiy-specific and technical themes such as facility management, tourism, metallurgy, renewable energy energy efficiency and practical training in the construction sector,” explains Anton Aufner. It all goes to prove that there are no limits to a good education – or on the career opportunities that can be generated on the strength of that education.
